MSI researchers conduct limnological studies in freshwater and saline lakes, streams and wetlands in North America and elsewhere around the world including the arctic and tropical Africa and South America.  A major focus of these studies is on interdisciplinary research aimed at measuring the sources, fluxes and fates of land-derived materials in streams, and their ecological effects on freshwater, estuarine and coastal marine habitats.
