Kennett has been awarded the Shepard Medal for Marine Geology Geology Professor and former MSI Director James Kennett has been awarded the Shepard Medal for Marine Geology from the Society for Sedimentary Geology. The Society recognizes one individual each year with this award for "Excellence in Marine Geology".
